reality. Join our staff of passionate people to help encourage others
to get actively involved in environmental stewardship.
The Fundraising Coordinator will work with EcoSuperior’s fundraising
committee and team members to meet established targets in attracting
sponsors and contributors to a building expansion project — our
planned Regional Centre for Sustainable Communities. The Centre will
be a place for area residents and students to see and learn about
green building technologies and conservation concepts, with on-site
tours and training spaces. The intern will help increase the
organization’s profile in the community and expand the network of
community support in a variety of fundraising efforts. The goal is to
secure sufficient resources to begin the first phase of construction
during the internship period. This is a 12-month paid internship, with
good potential for ongoing employment.
Primary Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising Coordinator will:
• organize meetings and coordinate all communications with the
fundraising committee
• create and maintain a database of potential sponsors and contributors
• research fundraising best practices and share information with the committee
• prepare sponsorship information kits
• prepare and send confirmation and thank you letters to confirmed contributors
• liaise with the Project Manager to keep abreast of current needs and
developments
• organize committee meetings and prepare/distribute meeting notes
• assist with preparation of funding proposals
• prepare reports for the Board of Directors
• assist with development of promotions and social marketing messages
• assist with other projects and programs as directed
Qualifications
This opportunity is supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund
Corporation. Applicants must be a university or college graduate who
has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college
or university. The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary
degree or diploma program. The position will be a first full-time
employment in the candidate’s field of study.
Candidates should have completed a degree in Communications,
Marketing, Business or a related field. An interest in environmental
issues and/or experience with non-for-profit organizations would be an
asset.
Wage: $15.50 per hour, 37.5 hours per week.
Term of employment: 12 months
Start date: January 2015
