The Canadian
Franchise Association (CFA), the authoritative voice for franchising in Canada,
is a national trade association serving the needs of the franchise
industry.  We are seeking a Coordinator, Communications who will employ
exceptional organization skills and attention to detail in
coordinating/supporting marketing and communications projects (online and
offline). This position will also assist in creating a range of communications
content and requires excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
with the ability to write for a variety of products (web, marketing, editorial,
etc.). The position reports to the Director, Communications.

Specific
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist
    the Director, Communications in project coordination of ongoing website
    development, including coordinating efforts of third-party vendors engaged
    in CFA online projects, testing of website functionality, and enforcing
    project targets and timelines
  • Update,
    develop, maintain, and enhance web pages and other online communications
    vehicles
  • Provide
    support to website sales representative through maintenance of website
    advertisers log, preparation of advertising renewal contracts, and
    producing ad performance reports for website advertisers
  • Work
    closely with the Director, Communications and Assistant Manager,
    Communications to develop, execute, and evaluate an integrated marketing
    plan for website marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, social media, advertising,
    media relations, etc. to produce increased web traffic and conversions
  • Assist
    with analysis of CFA website statistics including generation of website
    traffic and activity reports through analytic tools (Google Analytics,
    Constant Contact, Google PPC, etc.)
  • Ensure
    CFA member online listings are up-to-date and accurate
  • Assist
    in development, writing, and editing of content for a range of products
    including CFA websites, publications, and corporate communications
  • Monitor
    and track media for franchising news, emerging issues, and CFA media
    mentions and provide reporting, as required
  • Provide
    day-to-day administrative support to the CFA Communications team
  • Attend
    and assist at CFA events as required
  • Assist
    in special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Director,
    Communications

Skills
Required:

  • University
    graduate in communications, journalism or an equivalent combination of
    education, training, and/or work experience
  • Excellent
    organizational and administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional
    command of English (written and spoken)
  • Experience
    in writing for a range of communications vehicles including websites,
    media releases, and editorial
  • Familiarity
    in the WordPress content management system
  • 2-3
    years’ experience in communications or related field
  • Strong
    customer service and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively
    in a team environment
  • Ability
    to work under pressure, be flexible to change and work to timelines
  • Ability
    to work weekends and evenings, as required
  • Experience
    in a business association or membership-based environment would be an
    asset
  • Ability
    to speak and write French would be a significant asset

CFA
is located in Toronto on the Mississauga/Toronto border near Pearson
International Airport, with access by highway and public transit (Mississauga
and Toronto).  Plentiful free parking.
