Marketing Program Coordinator

Organic Alberta is seeking a candidate with strong communication and
project management skills that has experience in the delivery of
marketing campaigns. The candidate will also be adept at building
engagement with a diverse group of people and businesses to achieve a
common goal.

Organic Alberta is a membership driven non-profit association. We
represent and support Alberta`s entire organic industry. We serve all
certified organic and transitioning producers and processors, as well
as businesses across the value chain including but not limited to
distribution, transportation, brokers & buyers, marketers, organic
brands, certifiers, inputs, seed, feed, and retailers.

Alberta Organic Food Marketing Program Coordinator Responsibilities

Based on consumer research and in consultation with the organic
sector, Organic Alberta has developed an Alberta Organic Food
marketing campaign. The campaign is entering its second year, and
needs a coordinator to see it through to its final stages. The program
coordinator will continue to develop and implement the campaign which
includes:
• Create communication materials such as: press releases, content for
website, blogs, and marketing materials.
• Continue to work with companies contracted to produce 4 short
animation videos about the benefits of organics, and 4 short live
videos about organic beef and dairy production.
• Work with a communications and technology company to produce an app
on where to buy organic products.
• Work with retailers on a promotional campaign including shelf
talkers and other print materials aimed at educating consumers about
organics.
• Work with producers and organic businesses to integrate key
messaging about organics into their marketing materials.
• An in-store sampling program.
• Administrative tasks such as budgeting and reporting.

Qualifications:
• Candidate should have strong communications skills with a minimum of
3 years’ experience in working on marketing and/or communications
programs.
• Project management experience with a strong track record of
strategic and creative thinking and building stakeholder engagement.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Education and/or equivalent experience in communications, social
sciences, and/or agriculture.
• Strong networking, coordination and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel and work evening and weekends when required.

Assets
• Marketing and communications degree.
• Experience in event coordination.
• Experience in partnership development.
• Knowledge of agricultural production.
• Knowledge of the organic sector.
• Interest in local and organic food.

This is a one year 4 day/week position, based out of our Edmonton
office. Start date: January 5, 2015 to December 31, 2015. Salary to be
determined depending on background and experience.
