for reviewing compliance of operations, policies and procedures in accordance
with the annual audit workplan. These reviews will be conducted in
compliance with the Internal Auditor charter, Institute of Internal Auditors
(IIA) code of Ethics and PSI’s code of Ethics which governs ethical standards
for all PSI employees.

time to time, Conduct special audits (reviews) to identify any data error,
unaccountable transactions, faulty or inefficient processes, Review the
automated financial systems to ensure monthly correct corporate financial
reports, Attend stock counts as an independent person, do petty cash count
verifications, Recommend and follow up corrective actions after internal and
external (and also donor) audit, Ascertaining the adequacy of controls for
safeguarding PSI Malawi assets and verifying their existence where appropriate,
Review PSI Malawi’s corporate policies, donor and legal compliance (Government
laws and regulations) in the systems, Conduct regular audits of financial
controls and management systems
and attributes:
in Accounting along with computer literacy for spreadsheets and word
processing, preferably advance excel spreadsheets with 3 yrs of audit working
experience, Good experience in auditing and understanding environment of the
cooperating partners, health public sector, NGOs and private sector, Clear
understanding of the Social-Economic fabric of the Country, Good grasp of the
cause and impact of HIV/AIDS current issues pertaining to Malaria and
Child Survival, Reproductive Health and other Social Health issues in
Malawi, Have to understand difference donor requirements and procedures,
Excellent oral and written communication skills, Risk analysis (need to
understand the rules and regulations, policies and procedures), Audit (Audit Charter
and Ethical standards governing internal auditors from IIA), Understanding of
Internal controls, continuous assessment and introducing new ones, Innovative
ways of closing the loop on fraud and unethical dilemma, Be self-starter,
effective team player and demonstrated verifiable result-oriented track record
