Manager to help with the launch of its new tablet product. This product
will be a key element of the Star’s multi-platform evolution and a successful
implementation is key to its success. Reporting to Managing Director,
Operations & Production, this role will be responsible for strategic
planning and delivery of the project working closely with other project
management professionals. This is a front-line liaison role among
outside partners, in-house teams and senior management.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Ensure delivery of this project by meeting approved scope, cost, schedule, and
quality requirements.
•Interact with senior management to establish planning in terms of strategy and
objectives
•Closely track progress of the entire program as well as the performance
indicators and dashboards to ensure alignment with the goals and objectives of
the program
•Execute the program plans paying attention to quality, risk, communications
and resources so as to align results with expectations
•Ensure monitoring of project as it relates to conflicting issues, obstacles
and dependencies, in terms of priorities, risks or potential changes.
Performs risk identification and mitigation activities, escalating unresolved
issues to the Business Lead where appropriate to secure timely decisions and
support
•Manage the day to day administrative tasks for projects, such as: budget
tracking, status reporting, project communications, project meeting planning
and facilitation, team member role planning and tracking, contractor
management, risk management and project issue resolution
•Effectively communicate the details of the program to all stakeholders; manage
expectations of the business and strengthen collaboration across the various
divisions
•Define the program closing strategy and the transfer of responsibilities to
Operations
ABOUT YOU:
•8+ years of experience in project management, ideally in large organizational
transformation projects
•Proven leadership ability, strong tactical skills and exceptional service
orientation while balancing customer requirements as well as internal project
deliverables/scope
•Superior written and oral communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to motivate in a team-oriented,
collaborative environment
•Proficiency in best practices for traditional as well as Agile/Scrum project
management
•Ability to make quality decisions; strong capacity to influence, persuade and
initiate change
•Highly developed sense of politics, creative problem solver, and ability to
question the status quo
•Strong capacity for analysis and synthesis
•Results-oriented individual that pulls up his/her sleeves to ensure overall
commitment to business solutions
