We are a B2B conference company with a growing portfolio of events and
services. In operation since 2009 we developed the very successful
Ontario FIT Forum which has run for 5 years. Our regular clients
include many blue chip companies such as Siemens, GE, SunEdison,
Hatch, Caterpillar and KPMG. We are renowned for our professionalism,
expertise and the quality of our events.
18 months ago we launched Energy and Mines – a series of events, a
hubsite, and newsletter that aims to create renewable project
opportunities in the mining sector. To date we have held three very
successful events in this field: The Renewables and Mining Summit and
Exhibition Toronto (2013, 2014) and Johannesburg (2014). In 2015 we
aim to develop events in Canada, Chile, South Africa and possibly
Australia and Europe. There is a real business opportunity for
renewables in the mining sector and we aim to be the main enablers of
these potential relationships and projects
We are small Ottawa based company currently with 5 employees. We want
to add an experienced, motivated sales director to help drive
commercial relationships and maximize the potential of this exciting
new area. The potential for renewables in mines and the need for our
events in markets including Latin America, Australia, Europe is
present and current. This is going to be a huge series of events and
we need someone to join us and help build this exciting project.
The role is Ottawa based though we are keen to hear from Toronto or
Montreal based candidates who would principally work from home but
visit the Ottawa office once a week.
As sales director you would be expected to continue our current client
relationships and create sales opportunities across all our events.
You would also be expected to develop new business, particularly in
new markets. You would be given a target for each event but would be
expected to help create opportunities for clients and customers beyond
the summits.
Our preferred candidate should have experience in conference and
exhibition sales or have sales experience within the renewables,
mining or energy sectors.
The basic salary would be $55K but, given current excitement around
this topic, and our recent two sell-out events, we would expect the
right candidate to double or triple this.
You need to be self-motivated and driven by profit but also have a
clear understanding of our company values and aims and the values and
aims of our clients. You need to be a team player with excellent oral
and written communication skills. You need to be able to sell.
