Job Description:
The Manager, New Product Development is a critical
leadership role in the marketing innovation (fundraising) area. The Manager,
New Product Development is responsible for identification, testing, assessment
and successful roll-out of a minimum of two “new” monthly pledge products
within a one-year timeframe. These fundraising products will have relevance to
Canadians, meet existing programmatic needs, complement our brand/existing
products, and ultimately help diversify and grow our target audience, while
generating a favorable long-term return on investment. This role will work
closely with the Director, New Donor Engagement, the New Product Development
team (two coordinators) and collaboratively with internal and external
partners. This individual will also be responsible for innovating and testing
existing single gift, peer-to-peer / 3rd party fundraising campaigns, including
Team World Vision – meeting aggressive growth targets.

Specific Accountabilities include:
- Ideation through internal/external engagement
(20%) - Strategy Development, Marketing Plan, Budget and
Work-Back Schedule (25%) - Assessment of existing single-gift, 3rd party /
peer-to-peer campaigns focused on exponential growth through innovation
and increased relevancy - Leadership – Self and Team (20%)
- Department Management (10%)
Job Requirements(either or a
combination of):
combination of):
- The ability to provide in-depth expertise related
to fundraising products and services, and/or procedures and policies in
one specific area (e.g. systems analysis, purchasing, product marketing). - The knowledge and application of theories and
principles of a discipline. This is usually gained through an
undergraduate degree (or its equivalent) plus a few years of experience
(e.g. financial analyst, accounting, engineering). - Strong innovation track record being able to
navigate considerable ambiguity without existing processes and limited
direction - Previous experience in problem solving and
understand innovation best practices, disciplines, and ideation processes. - Highly collaborative individual with experience
working well through complex environments and even being willing to run
counter culturally (not being limited by what we have done). - Marketing and fundraising experience (digital
experience an asset) with a disciplined approach to identifying, testing,
assessing, and implementing new fundraising products. - Ability to accurately project revenue and adjust
marketing strategies based on performance; working in a fairly
unstructured, and highly competitive environment.
Other Requirements
5+ years of marketing innovation experience (
preferrably for non-profit) with a minimum of 3 years of management experience
and a proven track record of results; ability to work collaboratively, and with
infrequent direction in highly unstructured environment.
