employ over 200 professionals working from eight offices throughout
Ontario.

The environmental team at Tulloch provides practical ecological
solutions to industry, government and private sectors. Our biologists,
engineers and technicians work together to provide a unique blend of
expertise to our clients. We specialize in environmental assessment,
aquatic and terrestrial studies, species at risk, impact assessment
and mitigation design, regulatory approvals, erosion and sediment
control, environmental inspections during construction, hydrology and
hydraulics.

We are currently looking for a senior terrestrial or aquatic ecologist
to fill the role of Environmental Department Lead managing Tulloch’s
Sudbury-based environmental department. This is a permanent full time
position to begin as soon as a successful candidate is found.

Qualifications:

University degree in biology or environmental science; (Bachelor’s at
minimum, M.Sc. an asset)

5-10 years of related experience (consulting experience an asset);
• Project management experience;
• Experience supervising and advising staff;
• Sound proposal and technical report writing skills;
• Experience in solicitation of new clients;
• Risk management and project review;
• Excellent working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental
legislation, including various environmental assessment regimes and
policies;
• Willing to travel for field work when required.

A sound back ground in terrestrial and/or aquatic ecology is essential.

Assets related to this requirement may include:
• Training and experience using Ecological Lands Classification;
• Certification and experience using the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System;
• Field survey design and coordination;
• Experience identifying flora and fauna and their associated habitat;
• Knowledge of Ontario Stream Assessment Protocol;
• Fish and benthic invertebrate identification and fish habitat assessments;
• Experience developing offsetting or compensation plans, overall
benefit plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and monitoring
programs;
• Species at Risk survey protocols and policies;
• Knowledge of developmental impacts and mitigation.
