Reporting to the
Producer-Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for French news
coverage of Ottawa-Gatineau in the afternoons and evenings (12:45 pm to 9:00
pm), from Monday to Friday. You will be required to supply coverage on all of
our platforms (mobile, internet, radio, TV), live or recorded, in french.


You possess:

•University
education (or the equivalent) in journalism, communications or a related field
•Three years’ directly related experience that includes proven ability in the
field and knowledge of TV/radio broadcasting
•Relevant experience putting together and delivering reports and live hits
•Strong interviewing, writing and storytelling skills
•Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s mandate and its Journalistic Standards and
Practices
•Knowledge of Ontario’s social, political, cultural, and economic life
•General knowledge of news and current events at a regional, provincial and
national level
•Excellent command of French (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English
(spoken and written)
•Valid driver’s licence
•Knowledge of production applications (e.g., iNews, Avid) in use at
CBC/Radio-Canada an asset
•Solid news sense, editorial judgment, and decision-making skills
•Very high aptitude for learning new technologies
•Resourceful and self-starter
•Interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
•Able to plan, organize and coordinate your day-to-day work so as to meet tight
deadlines; able to work well under pressure
•Creative, enterprising and inquisitive approach to fact- and news-gathering
•May involve travel and flexible work hours
