in identifying solutions and taking action.
Title: Project Coordinator, Hamilton (Part-time, Contract Position)
Overview: This key opportunity is for a motivated individual based in
the Hamilton area who will coordinate and support community-driven
projects and events as part of Evergreen’s Hamilton Action Campaign in
partnership with the City and Hamilton Community Foundation. This
person will be
supported by Evergreen program staff based in Toronto
and be part of our network of Evergreen Coordinators across the
country.
Key Responsibilities:
• Works with local organizations, City staff and other partners to
develop and deliver community-driven initiatives (eg tree planting,
community gardening, art projects, neighborhood festivals and site
animation)
• Supports the development of community engagement strategy and leads
specific initiatives
• Plans and facilitates workshops, community meetings, visioning sessions
• Engages local volunteers to help mobilize key projects.
• Build awareness of the Action Campaign through social media and
blogging; participates in outreach activities including presentations
and media opportunities
• Supports the development of new program and funding partnerships
with Hamilton-based organizations

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education or equivalent relevant experience
• Proven project management skills and ability to put ideas into action
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; active user
of social media
• Experience developing and facilitating workshops and outreach
activities to diverse audiences
• Solid networks with institutions, organizations and populations
across Hamilton
• Computer literacy and fluency with Microsoft Office required
• Familiarity with Evergreen’s work and mission
• Valid drivers’ license preferred
Terms: This is a part-time consultant opportunity (average 24
hours/week) over 4 months with opportunity for extension.
Working conditions:
• Evening or weekend work will be required on occasion.
• Many events will take place outside, rain or shine.
• Periodic travel to Toronto will be required
