dandyhorse magazine is Canada’s premier arts and advocacy cycling
lifestyle magazine.
dandyhorse magazine is looking for a new web editor. This is a
part-time position of approximately 10 hours per week working from
home for a four-month term, with occasional team meetings. Deadline
for application: September 20, 2014, 5 p.m.
About you: You have some writing/blogging/editing experience, you like
bikes, are willing to learn and have the ability to focus your
attention on details. The ideal candidate would also have another job,
and have
experience working two part-time jobs at the same time.
Details: The web editor will produce approximately two or three
self-generated stories per month (including in total at least two Bike
Spotting sessions over four months) – leads, contacts and ideas
provide (pitches always welcome). PLUS you will copy edit and upload
one or two stories per week from other contributors. All stories are
posted to social media.
We work in WordPress. Training and style guide are provided.
Break it down: Approximately 3-4 hours a day @ 2-3 days a week for 4
months. You will work with a variety of contributors; from
highly-skilled, established, regularly-published writers and
photographers to students and guest bloggers who work for bike
advocacy groups or like-minded environmental organizations who are
looking to promote their good works and events, along with two or
three other part-time editors.
This is a volunteer position.
