Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Tanzania is a
non-government organization (NGO) dedicated to supporting the provision of
high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment to HIV – exposed
and infected children and adolescents in the Lake and Southern Highlands
Zones of Tanzania through service delivery, training and research. Baylor
Tanzania is part of the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS initiative
(BIPAI) clinical centers of Excellence Network which is headquartered at
Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA

Development (USAID) and the Government of Tanzania Ministry of Health and

r – Tanzania is looking for highly motivated,
well-qualified individual to join its growing program team in the following
vacant positions:
Post: Driver
Position Summary: The Program Driver is responsible for driving program
vehicles for official program-related trips, maintaining accurate activity
logs, care and maintenance of vehicle, purchasing fuel and for providing
incident reports and all other reports requested by management
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on
driving activity for all
trips
· Assess and document vehicle condition, need
for vehicle
maintenance and fuel purchase
· Maintaining cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
· Ensure that all tools (spare tires, jack,
belts, ropes, first aid
kit etc) fitted/kept in the vehicles are maintained and are in working
order.
· Perform minor maintenance tasks on the
assigned vehicle as
required
· Coordinate the schedules for major or
periodic vehicle
maintenance /service with management and staff to minimize service
interruptions
· Respond immediately to medical emergencies
by notifying emergency
response providers and rendering first aid until emergency team arrives
· Ability to provide logistics and periodic
office support
· Perform all other duties assigned by his/her
supervisor
· Maintain up to date knowledge of driving
rules and regulations
and ensure that daily driving complies with legal requirements and good
driving practice.
Qualifications and Skills Required
· Have a minimum of 5 years of driving
experience and possess a
valid class C, C1, driving license.
· Professional driving qualifications and
mechanics trade test
desirable.
· Have working knowledge of rules and
regulations involved in the
safe and efficient operation of automotive equipment
· Have knowledge of basic automotive
maintenance procedures
· Ability to read, understand and adhere to
rules and regulation of
the Republic of Tanzania
· Ability to work flexible schedules,
including occasional
evenings, weekends and overnight stays as needed
· Proficiency in speaking both English and
Kiswahili
· Ability to manage and prepare accurate
vehicle records and reports
