Althaea Herb Farm grows and sells high quality organic herbs and
herbal tea to local markets and practitioners of natural medicine. We
pride ourselves on the therapeutic value of our herbs and the special
tea blends that we create.
We run provide a fun, educational program on site, which is run and
designed by Herbalist Scott Reid to any interns that are accepted to
our program. If you are someone who is interested in learning about
herbalism, healing, organic agriculture, herbal preparations,
horticulture and basic bo
tany, you should think about getting
involved! This program is perfect for people who want to get their
hands dirty in a beautiful location, with their feet on the earth and
learn through experience, with an experienced herbalist. Learn
herbalism by participating in it! No experience necessary.
More information about the Internship – work 8-10hrs. each week (a few
hours Saturday and Sunday and the rest on Monday). You’ll work on the
herb farm from the last week of September to first week of December
with Herbalist Scott Reid.
Each week, you’ll receive a free in-field class or workshop during our
work together for 11 weeks (that’s 9 herbalism classes during our
term), and 2 herbal remedy making workshops. As well, you’ll receive a
small kit of dried herbs and tinctures from the farm for you to sample
along the way.
This internship is an 11 week intensive, providing lots of information
and resources and giving a solid basis for beginners who are serious
