A great opportunity exists for an experienced internal counter sales person to
work in our trade centre selling to builders and the trades a comprehensive
range of steel products, (structural, SHS/RHS, merchant bar, REO bar, mesh,
etc), engineering and industrial products, alongside a can-do management team!
The Company
Based in Central West NSW for over 15 years, our client is an Australian owned
Family Trade and Service centre. Their core business includes supply of steel
and value added service, plus Industrial / Engineering supplies and services.
They stock a large range of steel products consisting of structural, pipes,
RHS, SHS, merchant bar, plate and sheet, builder’s mesh, concrete reinforcing
and accessories. Additionally they provide industrial supplies such as safety,
welding, hand & power tools, lifting equipment, hardware and consumables.
Value added services provided include structural and sheet metal fabrication,
guillotining, press brake bending, high def plasma cutting, turret punching,
rolling and hot dip galvanizing for industry, trade, builders and DIY.
The Role:
- Internal sales rep for industrial, steel and
engineering products - Customer service and value add sales
- Taking orders on phone, email, website, and
arranging dispatch - Calling customers to generate new business and
service existing client base - Maintaining an up to date product knowledge
- Controlling stock on shelves and liaising with
purchasing and dispatch
The ideal candidate
- Sales experience – retail or industrial
- Knowledge of steel supplies and/or industrial
supplies - Negotiation and liaising with customers direct
and by phone - Has worked in the steel and / or industrial
and engineering supplies industry - Technical aptitude
- Ability to think on feet in a busy fast paced
environment - Demonstrated track record of high performance
- Enthusiastic and willingness to get stuck in.
- The ability to liaise with all levels of industry
and DIY market - People skills
- Time management skill & ability to
prioritise. - Telephone manners
- Merchandising skills
If successful in the role, the client may offer Permanent Resident after 2
years (cannot be promised, and dependent on performance). The company is
already an approved 457 Visa Sponsor, 457 Visa Sponsorship (Australian work
visa) may be available for a super candidate. If 457 visa sponsorship is
