Rwanda Ventures (RV)
is a social business incubator headquartered in Rwanda. Pushing beyond
traditional international development models, RV creates long-term, sustainable
impact through for-profit enterprise. RV is currently focused on launching its
first business, Kivu Dairy, to combat chronic malnutrition and improve the
private sector economy by helping dairy farmers: 1) produce higher quality
milk, 2) increase the productivity of their cows, and 3) access stable markets.
Kivu Dairy’s Milk Collection Center represents the future of development, as it
merges Rwanda’s national public health strategies with a market-driven model to
decreasing poverty.
Details This position is diverse in
nature and demands a multifaceted individual. You should be capable of
developing and evaluating new impact generating innovations and leading Kivu
Dairy’s growth and recapitalization. You will be responsible for designing and
executing new business strategies, overseeing all the daily operations of Kivu
Dairy, writing grant proposals, and cultivating and managing relationships with
investment partners.
Essentials You must be flexible and
excited about doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Excellent
organizational skills, a love for writing, and strong analytical capabilities
will take you far, as will comfort in working independently and the ability to
take initiative. You have an innate passion for understanding the ins and outs
of running a social business, strong problem-solving skills, and creativity.
Maturity and management experience will help you succeed, as well as security
in new cross-cultural settings exemplified by the ability to communicate
effectively to a wide range of audiences.
The
Nitty-Gritty
Work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa or a similar setting is essential, and
French language skills are strongly preferred. This position demands a one-year
minimum commitment. The position will begin as an internship, but offers
opportunity for significant professional growth.
