Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary,
nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situation s, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.
• Scope of Work The following topics and explain through participatory learning processes.;
The consultant will be expected to conduct a two days training session on the following topics:
• Introduction to Supply Chain Response
• The Main Component of Supply Chain
• Procurement and Order Management,
• Transportation,
• Warehouse (safety, storage, accountability and Inventory Management)
• Distribution and material release procedures
• The Role of Supply Chain Response in Disaster Management
• Actors and Stakeholders in the Humanitarian Supply Chain:
• Civilian and Military Authorities
• UN Agencies
• NGOs
• ICRC or IFRC
• Donors
• Private Sector
• Media
• Country Office
• Programme Staff
General points:
o Ensure 2 days of training on stockpile and supply chain management of 30 participant’s batch
o Consultant/s must ensure have pre and post training forms properly filled out by training participants.
o Ensure trainings are delivered by consultant/s in full compliance with session plans as well as training material is fully explained to ensure that training participants have understood what was shared with them.
o Consultant/s should ensure that peer/horizontal learning as well benefiting from local wisdom, examples and lessons learnt is encouraged in trainings.
o Consultant/s strictly follows and honor principle understanding developed with you and reflected in this document of TORs.
Skills & Requirements:
Personnel Qualifications
1. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in capacity building of national and international organizations .
2. Subject specific experience and higher education at least masters degree in administrative sciences , disaster management or emergency management or social sciences , economics (Curriculum Vitae of the team members should be annexed with the proposals).
3. Willingness and physical fitness to work in conflict environment.
4. Ability to work in traditional, and remote social system
5. Good communication, report-writing and presentation/training skills
6. Understanding of and practical experience with community participatory approaches (where applicable) 7. Exposure to related field activities
8. Experience with working in a team.
