Research Engineer Position in Super-resolution Microscopy at ICFO, Spain

Description
The successful candidate will work in the Super-resolution Light Nanoscopy imaging centre (SLN) Lab at ICFO and will be in charge of maintaining and providing user support for state-of-the-art microscopes (in particular Nikon N-STORM and Leica W-STED).

Tasks will include maintaining the full operation of the microscopes, training facility users in super-resolution microscopy, testing samples for super-resolution microscopy and giving assistance for super-resolution microscopy workshops at ICFO.

Highly motivated candidates who are looking for the opportunity to also contribute to scientific projects and publications and enhance their knowledge by combining biology, physics and chemistry in an inter-disciplinary environment are especially encouraged to apply.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in biological microscopy and optics.

Requirements
Candidates desirably hold an internationally-recognized PhD-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future). Nevertheless, outstanding candidates with a Master-equivalent degree may be taken into account, as well.

No restrictions of citizenship apply to the ICFO research engineer contracts.
Initially, the contract is offered for a period of one year, with the possibility of renovation.
