The Forest Team are seeking a Senior Researcher to help develop and steer a programme of policy research on tree-based enterprise, on and off-farm, to meet growing demands for food, fodder, fuel and fibre within sustainable and equitable landscapes.
The Forest Team is part of IIED’s broader Natural Resources Group whose goal is to encourage and shape fairer, more sustainable governance of natural resources by generating the evidence, argument and leverage needed to improve institutions, policies and legal frameworks. The Natural Resources Group includes complementary teams in agroecology and food sovereignty, land rights, biodiversity, and water.
To succeed in this role you must have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline; extensive research and practical work experience in forest landscapes, including experience of working in developing countries; fluency in English and strong communication skills demonstrated by very good interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills developed through interacting with people from different backgrounds and cultures. You will have demonstrated leadership experience in both designing and implementing research projects and you will have a track record of fundraising.
