CA Global: Manufacturing (Africa Positions) has a client looking for an experienced Managing Director/General Manager with a background in cement production. This position will be based in Accra, Ghana.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage development and implementation of business strategy.
• Establish Departmental goals.
• Determine work procedures and assign duties to key personnel.
• Prepare daily reports.
• Responsible for general appearance and security of grounds, buildings, equipment and machinery.
• Coordinate with sales and dispatch departments to ensure timely and efficient product deliveries to customers and depots.
• Regular company performance reporting to PGL President and Board of Directors.
• Operating monthly expenses within approved budget to ensure profitability.
• Monitor Supplier Relations, Costs and Quality.
• Expand and develop marketing strategy.
• Maintain effective relationships with customer base.
• Support sales efforts and direct Business Development Plan.
• Manage local legal matters.
• Develop external relationships and partnerships with Government Agencies, third parties, media and within industry.
• Formulate and implement project safety plan to provide clear and effective guidelines for health, safety and environmental matters within the relevant legislative requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates should hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil), Business Administration/Management or equivalent.
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years managerial experience in a cement production facility.
• It would be preferable if the candidate had some experience/exposure in Africa.
• Preference would also be for Managers who also have a background in Sales and Marketing.
• The required language of the candidate would be English.
