Eligibility:
An award from the EPSRC for a Doctoral Training Centre in Interdisciplinary Energy Research (E-Futures) is centred on a 4-year PhD programme aimed at graduates of a physical sciences discipline, or a related subject that includes some degree of numerical or statistical analysis (e.g. physical geography, biology, economics, psychology etc) who already have or expect to obtain a first or upper second class honours degree. Positions are available to students who can secure funding, but some scholarships for international students are also available from the University of Sheffield.

Scholarship Description: E-Futures is a Doctoral Training Centre that will train a new generation of scientists and engineers to address the challenges inherent in making the transition to a sustainable energy future. 100 EPSRC funded students will receive a uniquely broad introduction and overview of energy issues in the first year of their training before developing individual specialisations through research projects.
