HIV-SN is a common cause of disability in HIV-infected individuals and has been strongly associated with the use of older antiretroviral drugs such as stavudine. This study will investigate the incidence of and risk factors or developing HIV-SN within the first year of patients starting the latest first-line treatment regimen, which substitutes tenofovir for stavudine.
