Duties:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
(i) teach in the areas of Sociological Theory and Research Methods; while candidates with a specialization in any area of Sociology will be considered, preference will be given to specialization in Crime and Deviance, Social Stratification, Rural Sociology, Industrial Sociology Economic Sociology, Environmental Sociology and Sociology of Law;
(ii) supervise undergraduate research activities, and may be assigned to supervise graduate students; (iii) conduct research and render professional service,
(iv) carry out other responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants for the position should have:
(i) a Masters degree in Sociology;
(ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology or relevant discipline with at least a 2(ii) pass and an overall aggregate not less than 65%; (iii) evidence of engagement in research and service. Teaching experience at a university or comparable institution and leadership skills will be added advantages.
