Who We Are:
Founded in 2008, the Toronto Cyclists Union provides a strong, unified voice for Toronto cyclists. We are a membership-based organization advocating for the rights and safety of cyclists from all across Toronto. Our work is almost entirely funded through membership contributions.

The Position:
The Outreach Intern will work with the Membership & Outreach Director in coordinating and executing the bike union’s outreach activities this summer.

The person will be responsible for:
• Identifying and obtaining information on potential outreach events
• Assisting in creating and implementing a schedule of outreach events
• Assisting in coordinating and executing outreach events
• Obtaining permits for the Bicycle Service Station

• Assisting in coordinating volunteers
• Processing membership forms and newsletter sign-ups after an event

Terms of Employment:
This is a full-time position for a period of nine weeks starting July 4th, 2011 and ending September 2nd, 2011. Compensation is set at $12.25/hour.

Applicants must:
• be eligible to work in Canada;
• be registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
• intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
