Unidas Local Representative Job Vacancy in Ghana

About the Organization:
Unidas is a pioneer social enterprise actively leveraging micro-entrepreneurship and microfinance with the goal of empowering vulnerable women and survivors of gender-based violence to realize their economic potential as aspiring businesswomen. We build on an integrated model of microfinance to facilitate a multidimensional empowerment and pioneer a sustainable solution for these women based on our network of strategic alliances with local partners.

About the Position:
Unidas is seeking a Local Representative for Ghana to join the global Unidas network as a part-time associate with a one-year, renewable contract. The position allows for great flexibility with respect to working hours and location. Based in Ghana, the associate is responsible for managing local projects, building relationships with partner organizations, and gradually leading the implementation of Unidas’ empowerment training program. The Local Representative reports to Unidas’global core team.

As a start-up non-profit venture, Unidas is currently unable to offer any financial remuneration. Our Local Representatives form part of our core team of foundation members who are currently all working on a pro-bono basis in addition to their full-time jobs. We are passionate about the positive change we drive at Unidas and excited to expand our international team with the objective to reach out to more women around the globe. On the other hand, Unidas will provide all associates with intensive training and capacity building, all relevant materials and resources, assistance to set up a local team, as well as ongoing support including regular conference calls with our global core team.

Job Qualification Requirements
High School/Senior Secondary School

Skills/qualifications/experience:
o Commitment to Unidas’ mission and values
o Knowledge in the area of women’s human rights and gender equity
o Knowledge of microfinance and micro-entrepreneurship a plus
o Proactive, engaged and ethical team player
o Good organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks
o Independent and responsible working style
o Experience in relationship management a plus
o Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
o Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment
o Ability to lead teams effectively and to solve conflicts
