Location: The position will work out of the Planet in Focus office from 10 am until 5 pm everyday. There may be some variations to the schedule.
Job description:
Planet in Focus is offering an opportunity for a student returning to school in September to join our team for seven weeks this summer. The successful applicant will hone and develop their marketing, design and communication skills for the 12th annual Planet in Focus Environmental Film Festival.
This Publishing and Design Coordinator will be primarily responsible for:
• Coordinating and assisting with all aspects of preparing the Festival Program Guide. This includes: collecting and organizing all film synopses, sponsor logos, film images, director’s bios, ads, etc.
• Assisting with the design and layout work where necessary (i.e. designing and preparing print ads and some marketing materials, resizing logos, editing images)
• Working with the design, communications and publicity team to assist in producing and disseminating all festival promotional materials
• Updating festival website with event information, film listings, sponsor logos, newsflashes and more
• Inputting all data into a system and communicating news via email broadcasts and other areas.
• Other duties as assigned
The successful applicant must be:
• Organized, outgoing and highly motivated
• A strong communicator (verbal and written)
• Deadline oriented.
Availability:
The job will 7 hours per day for 7 weeks. The applicants must provide own transportation to and from the location.
