Ontario Solar Provider is currently hiring for the following position: Structural Engineer.
Ontario Solar Provider is a fast growing company in Ontario’s exciting solar energy sector. Founded in early 2010, OSP has quickly become one of the major players in the Ontario solar field. We have extensive experience installing and developing rooftop (over 950 rooftops) and ground mount Solar PV installations (over 60 MW) in Europe and North America.
We are a highly motivated team of experts focused on bringing solar energy to Ontario. Our team has a combined experience of over 15 years in the solar industry with expertise in finance, ground mount development, sales, marketing and PV system construction.
Location: Toronto, Ontario
The successful candidate has:
• BEng or Masters in Structural and Architectural Engineering
• Structural Engineer Designation (Ontario P.Eng. preferred)
• Solar Photovoltaic Rooftop Evaluation Experience
Responsibilities will include:
• Design, review & stamp engineered drawings
• Work directly with internal and external engineering and installation teams for the installation of commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems
• Structural evaluation, design to OBC compliance and preparation of specifications for solar photovoltaic racking equipment
• Prepare scope documents for construction contracts
• Liaising with clients, building departments, and contractors
Assets
• Understanding of Consulting Engineering role in approvals process
• Onsite construction support experience
• Cost estimating of structural upgrades to a building
• Ability to complete on-site measurements and evaluations of building structures
