Industrial Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:
• Overall supervision, control, organising and ensure smooth operations of the Industrial Engineering Department, to meet the overall objectives of the Company.
• Supervise and enforce discipline and working attitude among the I.E. staff to achieve consistency in quality of work.
• The IE manager must be able to further develop the models to calculate OEE for all production units, based on the weighted production data.
• IE Department will define, maintain and improve the model by which production can report OEE on a daily basis.
• The IE manager must be able to define, calculate and analyse the model for checking installed capacity, actual capacity and future capacity on the machine and people level.
• The IE manager must be able to provide guidance to the IE department for cycle time analysis, value stream mapping.
• Based on the acquired data, the IE department must propose potential improvements within the Company and must lead these improvement projects.
• Within the LEAN manufacturing process the IE manager will have a leading roll within Maica to guide processes like 5S, TPM and KAIZEN.
• The IE manager must be able to provide proposals and analysis based on OEE data for important strategic decisions. Provide info for ROI calculation when requested.
• Develop and implement cost effective procedures and practices to minimise cost of production without compromising quality and productivity.
• The IE Manager must be able to communicate effectively with other related functional groups such as Process Engineering, Engineering, Procurement and Planning to drive for excellence.
• Ensure ISO and safety standards are adhered to.
• The I.E. Manager can act as independent internal auditor for process auditing.
Requirements:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Science or Engineering field.
• At least 5 year (s) of working experience in the similar field is required for this position, preferably Managers specializing in LEAN Manufacturing / Production Operations or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal + communication skills.
• Good coach and mentor to develop the recently started Industrial Engineering Department to the next level.
• Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, result oriented and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Preferably proven track record with LEAN manufacturing, 5S, KAIZEN, TPM etc.
• Experience in developing and / or implementing an ERP system within a production environment is an added advantage.
• Ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce to achieve production target and quality standard.
• Possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Full time position available.
• Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
• This function will cover both production locations of Maica Laminates.
• This position will be reporting directly to the General Manager of Production & Technology.
