Welding Technician
Mississauga, ON

Reporting to the VP of Innovation & Technology, the Weld Technician is required to achieve optimum weld quality and process capability that will meet our customers requirements.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Evaluate proposed Engineering changes, advise appropriate Associates of possible weakness or welding problems.
* Programming & Troubleshooting of Motoman Robots
* Provide support and research for new welding processes and products for Production team.
* Assist in the installation, training and start up of new and existing projects.
* Originate and implement welding improvement and cost reduction to all weld processes, including machine and capability studies as required.
* Daily hands on approach will be required for resolution of recurring quality issues or technical failures.
* Control and develop all welding documentation, launches, inspection, rework procedures and welding manufacturing.
* Oversee all welding testing and inspection to ensure that proper evaluation and procedures are followed.

Experience & Skills
* Welding Engineering Technician diploma or degree (2 yr minimum) or equivalent experience
* Minimum 3 – 5 years – Welding Manufacturing environment with extensive experience in welding improvements
* Advanced programming knowledge of Motoman Robots
* Must have a good understanding of stamping processes
* Able to Communicate internally with all departments and externally with Customers
* Ability to apply re-engineering and continuous improvements processes
* Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
* Ability to cope and handle stressful situations
* Good Computer skills – Microsoft Windows (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), JDE & Project Mgmt.
