Location: Winlaw (close to Nelson), British Columbia
We are seeking a wonderful and hard-working intern (or couple) for the summer/fall, ideally starting early June (or asap) to the end of October. We are a market garden growing a wide variety of vegetables, and oyster and shiitake mushrooms, with a focus on heirloom varieties. We sell to farmers markets, restaurants and through a 10-member CSA.
Our 13-acre farm was started in 2009, and is transitioning to certified organic. We are located right on the beautiful Slocan River (with a great swimming hole) and the “Rails to Trails” (a walking/biking path), and are only a 10min bike ride to ‘downtown’ Winlaw (about 45km from Nelson BC). We are a new farm and still learning but we can offer a great experience with potential for specific projects of interest (seed saving, green manures, trials, etc).
Accommodation will be in our small converted coop cabin, with mostly shared delicious and nutritious vegan meals (or ingredients to make your own). A small bbq is available for non-vegan food.
