Position Title: Laboratory Technologist
Location: Kampala (based in Makerere
University Walter Reed Project Laboratory)
Essential Duties and Training Responsibilities:
Proficiently perform specimen accessioning and plasma, CSF, PBMC, and serum processing per SOP.
Testing cells by multi parameter flow cytometry and running of samples on a FACSCanto flow cytometer.
Facilitate communication between the clinical staff at MUJHU, heads of section at MUWRP, and researchers at the University of Colorado.
Perform QA/QC, maintain laboratory equipment, including but not limited to service and repair as established by SOPs and QA/QC guidelines.
Maintain lab database and ensure accurate documentation from records to results.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job requirement
Required Education, Knowledge and Abilities.
Bachelors degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology or
Bachelors in Medical laboratory Sciences or any related science laboratory field
Row cytometry experience
Highly motivated individual who is able to work independently and in a team
Supervisory Controls: The incumbent will work under the supervision of the laboratory supervisor or his/her designee as mutually agreed upon by the Laboratory Co-Director and Investigators.
Period of Work: 1-2 years.
