This will include:
• Sourcing, contract development and performance management of suppliers.
• Development and management interface between Purchasing, Technical Integrity, Engineering and HSE authorities
• Negotiation and management of local agreements including networking on site and other sites as appropriate to ensure coordinated approach to 3rd party spend and supplier leverage.
Core responsibilities:
• To identify suitable sources of supply, with capacity and capability to supply the Scottish Site.
• To purchase and ensure the timely supply of quality materials, all in accordance with site Purchasing Procedures and Processes.
• To identify sources of value within the supply chain including process/tools and systems that can be exploited to the benefit of the business.
• Provision, maintenance and development of competitive supply agreements for selected services and materials consistent with Business needs.
• To develop relationships with suppliers via assessment and performance monitoring to establish a reliable core of top class suppliers.
• Strategic and Tactical purchasing including strategy development, enquiry, contract/order, variations and vendor performance management within the materials area of instrumentation and electrical commodities
Skills and Education:
• Purchasing experience of similar Electrical commodities or systems
• Be financially astute and commercially aware to maximise benefit to the company in its dealings with suppliers
• Able to manage own performance and the performance of suppliers and identify and implement performance improvement measures.
• Understand the business process of its customers and proactively integrate these with the purchasing processes.
• Ability to communicate fluently with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders.
• Professionally qualified or studying towards gaining purchasing associated qualifications.
• Previous experience of sourcing Electrical and Instrumentation equipment
