SUPPORT WORKERS

We are looking for 3 support workers to join a Young Parents team based in Glasgow with a citywide remit to work with vulnerable young parents. The Support Worker in partnership with Skills Development Scotland’s dedicated Young Parent Careers Advisers will target young people, generally between the ages of 16 and 19, who are young parents or about to become young parents, who face specific barriers to employment, training, further education or voluntary work.
You will be an effective team player qualified in Social Care, Career Guidance, Teaching or Youth Work or will possess comparable relevant experience of working with disadvantaged, disaffected and vulnerable young people, preferably young parents. Successful candidates will have effective presentation and communication skills, excellent networking and negotiation skills and an ability to plan and self evaluate.
