Community Environment Alliance (CEA) is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and qualified individual to join our team as the Project Coordinator to help implement the Skills for the GreenSector Repository Project (SGSRP). The Skills for the GreenSector Repository project aims to assist skilled immigrants to understand the diverse and growing opportunities the green sector provides for bridging and integration with the traditional and distinctive skills and experiences. The Repository will also serve as an effective learning and sharing podium to build the capacity of the environmental businesses and organizations to connect with skilled talent pool of newcomers in order to help the sector meet its growing demand for skilled professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator will be responsible to:
• Assist with the coordination of all aspects of the project including planning and scheduling of all project activities and overseeing daily project administration
• Participate and provide leadership in the development, implementation and review of the project activities and contractual deliverables including but not limited to:
– Setup of the Project Advisory Committee
– Facilitation of sector survey, focus groups and network meetings
– Conceptualization and development of tools and survey structure
– Data collection and research framework to collect project specific data/information from various stakeholders
– Conduct outreach and sector research and arrange for guest speakers
– Work closely with the Web Developer to help build tools, resources and functionality of the repository
– Evaluation plan to assess the functionality and efficacy of the online repository within the project mandate
– Media release and report writing
• Promote the project within partners, SPOs and green business sector
• Work closely with project staff, project advisory committee, project stakeholders and partner organizations to ensure appropriate coordination of project components
• Responsible for filing monthly project report to the funder ensuring proper documentation
• Assist with the development and implementation of appropriate systems, protocols and procedures for effective program evaluation, ensuring compliance with project guidelines, indices and targets
• Responsible for all reporting requirements, administration and evaluation for the project
• Liaise with SPOs, settlement programs, guest speakers and industry professionals
• Oversee partner and service-contract relationships and manage contracts
• Identify and participate in committees, collaborative and network meetings
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate Advisory Committee meetings including building Terms of reference for the committee members, scheduling meetings, taking minutes and coordinate with dissemination of meeting minutes and updates
• Closely work with the Executive Director to ensure highest standards in program delivery, accountability and reporting protocol
• Work in the team to ensure higher project outcome and sustainability
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
• Pragmatic understanding of new immigrant issues and familiarity of the environmental/green sector
• Self-motivated, positive personality, willing to take initiative, with ability to work well individually and in a team environment
• Ability to take responsibility and deliver on it on time and within budget
• Ability to persuade and ‘bring people together from various corners of thinking’ towards a common goal
• Demonstrative skills/experience in
– working with labour council/s and business sector
– research, survey and report writing including conducting focus group and sector specific survey
– collating survey data in appropriate format for target reporting
– familiarity with developing online resources for creating web based repository with user friendly functionality
– Proficiency is database software (Intermediate – advanced knowledge in Excel and/or Access)
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills specially to conduct labour market analyses and develop screening tools
• Demonstrated experience in organizing event, training and media strategy
• Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with policies and ability to take directions
• Highly developed organization and planning skills, including time and issue management skills
• Experience in managing project budgets
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and conflict management skills in a racially/ culturally diverse staffing, and internal and external stakeholders
• Proficient in computer literacy in a windows and networked environment, MS applications
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities
• Fluency in a language other than English is an asset
• Valid Driver License
