As a member of a community-based, multidisciplinary specialist rehabilitation team, you will provide services across inpatient and ambulatory settings. Working in partnership with local team members and metropolitan-based specialists, you will contribute to the planning, development and implementation of Rehabilitation services in Whyalla, and across Country Health SA. Acting as a resource to other staff, you will provide guidance to less experienced staff and students. The services provided will focus on improving health outcomes, functional capacity and quality of life, in accordance with the State-wide Rehabilitation Service Plan 2009-2016, and the objectives of the Council of Australian Government’s (COAG) Sub-acute Services Initiative. Whyalla is situated on the coast of the Eyre Peninsula, and boasts excellent fishing and water sports. It is well situated for day trips to many beautiful areas across the Eyre Peninsula, Clare Valley & Flinders Ranges, and is well serviced by Rex Airlines, with the largest shopping precinct outside of Adelaide.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
