As a leading Australian energy retailer, our client provides gas, electricity and LPG to more than 4.6 million homes and businesses across Australia.
More than that they find and produce gas, generate electricity and invest in renewable energy and have some significant projects under way including wind, hydro, solar and geothermal.
With a healthy pipeline of projects and significant funding, our client is seeking a Principal Wind Engineer to provide specialist knowledge in key technical areas associated with the development and operation of wind farms.
The successful applicant will be the in-house technical expert for our client in the area of wind engineering and will involve:
• Wind resource assessment
• Micro siting and wind farm layout optimisation
• Technical assessment of the suitability of various turbine types and models for specific sites
• Working closely with project managers and the commercial team in the provision specialist technical advice
• Working with the asset management team in the provision specialist technical advice
• Coordinating technical advisors
• Build and maintain networks with other business units
• Mentor and develop more junior members of the team
