The Okanagan Tree Fruit Cooperative is owned by over 750 fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 600 employees, and operates multiple facilities. We require an outstanding individual for the role of Human Resources Manager.
Human Resources Manager
The successful applicant will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will have the following key accountabilities:
– Manage a broad variety of HR duties and programs requiring in-depth knowledge of practices and procedures in all areas of the organization with a particular focus on employee and labour relations, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, recruitment;
– Ensure consistent application of all people practices, policies and procedures; coach and assist managers and employees in the resolution of employee issues;
– Participates at the tactical and operational levels to support a wide variety of human resources programs, services and projects;
– Ensure the organization is offering best and ethical practices for the entire career life cycle of employees including: sourcing, recruiting, hiring, orienting, coaching, training, transitional services and exiting practices;
– Work effectively with the union to play a key role in interpreting and promoting company culture through the consistent application of the collective agreement; investigation and response to grievances; participates in contract negotiations;
– Coaches, investigates and counsels on human resources issues with respect to various legislative compliance requirements to relevant committees, managers and employees;
– Manages the recruitment and selection process working with internal hiring managers;
– Communicates and educates employees on all human resources programs, policies and procedures.

– ability to maintain confidentiality
– excellent understanding of HR standards and best practices, collective agreements, human rights and employment standards legislation
– a minimum of five years experience in human resources management and a CHRP designation.
