Nigerian teenager says goodbye to Arsenal FC

Arsenal says midfielder Kelechi Nwakali from Nigeria joined SD Huesca on a three-year contract with Spanish Segunda B side.

“Kelechi Nwakali has joined Spanish Segunda Division side SD Huesca on a permanent deal,” read a statement on Arsenal’s official website.

“We will like to wish Kelechi all the best for the future.

“The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”

After leading Nigeria to win the 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, Nwakali joined the Gunners in 2016.

He won the Golden Ball as the best player in the tournament.

Also on Monday, SD Huesca announced Nwakali’s signing on their official Twitter page and website.

Nwakali was on loan at VVV Venlo in the Ditch Eredivisie for the first half of the 2017/2018 season before joining MW Maastricht.

He made thirty appearances during these two loan spells.

He spent time in the Portuguese Primeira Liga loan with FC Porto last season.
